BOLS POMEGRANATE LIQUEUR
Bols is dedicated to being at the forefront of producing innovative and relevant flavours to tantalise your taste buds, and this year is no exception. Working closely with the bartenders and their global partners Bols has launched a new and exciting Pomegranate liqueur.
Bols prides itself on listening and responding to requests from all of their markets, to ensure that bartenders create the memorable drinks experiences that consumers look for. Inspired by the recent trend for so called ‘superfruits' with health-giving benefits and leading the way in product innovation, the Bols Pomegranate flavour offers bartenders a brand new mixology experience. Stay tuned for more exciting new flavours currently in development!
Crimson red in colour, Bols Pomegranate delivers the tangy, sweet-sharp flavour of sun-ripened pomegranates. Like the rest of the Bols liqueurs, it's based on only high-quality distilled alcohol, natural sugar, freshly-squeezed fruit juice and top-quality aromas.
The new flavour has launched globally and will be available from your local distributor, however in preparation for its arrival, leading mixologist Philip Duff has created a few cocktail recipes to inspire your mixology minds!
Bols Pomegranate Liqueur Cocktail Recipes
The Persephone
Glass: Martini-cocktail
Ingredients:
3/4 shot Bols Pomegranate
1 1/4 shots blended Scotch whiskey
1/4 shot Bols triple sec liqueur
1/4 shot freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/2 shot rich sugar syrup*
Technique: Shake all ingredients with ice, strain into the pre-chilled glass.
Garnish: Spiral orange zest, zested over the drink. Named for Persephone, kidnapped by Hades to become the dark goddess of the Underworld in Greek mythology.
* To make rich sugar syrup, simply dissolve 2 cups of regular white granular sugar completely into 1 cup of hot water.
Pomegranate Collins
Glass: Longdrink glass
Ingredients:
1 shot Bols Pomegranate
1 shot gin
1/2 shot freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/4 shot rich sugar syrup
2 segments of peeled mandarin orange
Technique: Muddle the mandarin segments in the shaker, add the other ingredients and ice, shake hard, strain into the ice-filled glass and fill with pomegranate juice.
Garnish: Lemon slice.
Ginger Hand Grenade
Glass: Shooter glass
Ingredients:
3/4 shot Bols Pomegranate
3/4 shot silver tequila
3/4 shot ginger beer**
Technique: Build Pomegranate and tequila in the glass, top with ginger beer, cover the glass with your hand, slam on the bar, then drink in one while it's fizzing.
** If you can't find ginger beer anywhere, you can use ginger ale as a substitute.
